Design Concept
Ideas towards web design have changed, at least in the more progressive quarters anyway. Reliance on tables and spacer graphics are coming to an end and if you want your site to be any way accessible to the visually impaired you are going to have to make the leap to CSS technology.
The use of style sheets also allow the separation of content from its presentation. This in turn leads to pages that are more easily reproduced as templates for other pages and are vastly easier to maintain. Smaller file sizes, fewer place-holder graphics and faster load times are some of the other advantages of CSS.
I have quite a specific idea as to what makes a good web site. In my view it has to be easily navigated, informative and designed along clean lines.
Admittedly some of my early efforts contravened these basic tenets but with a little experience and some decent literature I swiftly came to my senses!
Design Implementation
No matter what your business is, a good web site can only enhance your reputation and as a consequence improve your business. By the same token a bad web site can make you look amateurish.
