I am a Liverpool fan. Stop sniggering at the back! We’ve had some lean years in terms of trophies and quality football but things are about to change I reckon.

After having watched us play Deportivo la Coruna tonight I can't help but wonder at how we would have fared under the previous regime. I'm sure many other reds are thinking the same way.
Consider this. Under Houllier would Biscan or Traore have played as well as they did? He was the man responsible for bringing them to the club but I find it impossible to believe that he would have had the ability to extract the level of performance from either that they displayed.
Djimi was tenacious and confident in the tackle and made some crucial interceptions while displaying an admirable buccaneering spirit to get forward when required.
Igor displayed strength and subtlety in equal proportions. His wonderful approach play for the goal being an obvious example.
They were both exclusive contenders for man of the match. I thought Traore shaded Biscan, albeit only slightly.
Most of us would have had them for the scrapheap. It speaks unbelievebly highly of Rafas man managament skills that not only are they now an option for cover but also for a first team place!
Who saw that happening a year ago?
